You were bought with a price!

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you  which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Corinthians 6: 18-20

These words are delving deep into my spirit this morning as I read and understand them and I pray they do the same for you

YOU were bought with a price, your body is an actual temple of the Holy Ghost. If we spend time really understanding that we would never get into some of the habits and practices that we’ve become so comfortable getting into.

We would begin to see out bodies with much more worth and value than we’ve seen it before.

I not only apply this verse to fornication but to sexual habits and other practices that do not add any value to our temple’s.

If our bodies were bought with such a price and the Holy Spirit himself calls us his temple for which he dwells how can we then indulge in sexual sin, masturbation, intoxication, and many other habits that dishonor our temple’s.

Think of how much you are worth and the fact that the Holy Spirit seeks to dwell WITHIN you before we begin indulging in things that are not worth how much we are. We were bought with a price, let us carry ourselves as such.

It is not worth it.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank you that your word reminds us of the high value you have placed on us as your beloved children. May we carry ourselves with the understanding that we are the temples of the Holy Ghost and may we learn to honor our temple by caring for it and treating it with love and respect in obedience to you. May we honour you and may we honour our temple. In Jesus name, amen

God’s wisdom

The foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty. 1 Corinthians 1: 25 & 27

God’s wisdom is way above and beyond our own. This day and weekly’s encouragement is to remember that even the ‘foolishness’ of God is wiser than what you and I think to be wise. God knows much better than you.

So this day and moving forward begin to let go of what you know to be wise in your own eyes, your own understanding of what is right or true. Let go.

Let God teach you through his word, through experience and through the Holy Spirit’s whisper his wisdom and understanding. Let go and listen to the wisdom of God, you are much safer there.

Dear Heavenly Father, give us the humility to let go of our own understanding which may be causing us to walk in disobedience. Help us to trust your divine wisdom and walk in it. We trust you and let go. In Jesus’ name amen.
